Carlos Martinez went five innings on Friday, giving up five hits, six earned runs, and two walks while recording five strikeouts in a 9-2 loss to Philadelphia.

A disastrous second inning ruined the night for Martinez, as all six runs scored in that frame when Martinez allowed eight consecutive batters to reach base, which included two HBPs. C-Mart has now pitched exactly five innings in all three of his starts this season (all losses) and owns an ugly 7.80 ERA. He’ll face the Nationals next week.
