Taylor Widener blanks the Nationals over six innings, gets no-decision

by Jon Mathisen | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Sat, Apr 17th 11:25am EDT

RHP Taylor Widener was handed a no-decision on Friday when he allowed four hits over six innings with two walks and three strikeouts in a 1-0 loss to the Nationals.

Fantasy Impact:

Widener went toe-to-toe with Max Scherzer and kept the Nats off the scoreboard through his six innings. The 26-year-old righty has gotten off to a great start this season with a 1.59 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 11:5 K/BB ratio over 17 innings (three starts). He lacks strikeout upside and has a difficult matchup against the Reds in his next turn.
