Fernando Tatis Jr. goes 0-3 on Monday

Fernando Tatis Jr. went 0-3 with a walk, a strikeout, and a run scored in the Padres' loss to the Brewers on Monday.

Fantasy Impact:

The bad news for Tatis is that he only has one hit (a home run) since returning from the IL. The good news is that Tatis has remained on the field and is still walking at a solid clip. It certainly has not been the start to the season that fantasy managers dreamed of when they drafted Tatis before the season started. Tatis is now slashing just .118/.231/.294 on the young season. There is reason for optimism, as Tatis is still posting solid exit velocity and hard hit rate numbers. Tatis has also begun keeping two hands on the bat when he swings, instead of his usual one handed release. It's possible he's still adjusting to this slight swing change. Because of those factors, it isn't time to panic yet with Tatis. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor reports on Tatis, as his shoulder injury could result in more days off. However, if he's in the Padres' lineup, he should be in yours as well. The upside is simply too high with Tatis.
