Taylor Widener surrenders three home runs in Thursday's no-decision

by Jon Mathisen | Braves Correspondent | Thu, Apr 22nd 6:14pm EDT

RHP Taylor Widener allowed four runs on five hits with one walk and seven strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in the D-Backs 14-11 extra-innings win over the Reds on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

Widener was victimized by the long ball on Thursday, serving up three, which accounted for all of his earned runs. Jesse Winker led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot before Widener settled in over the next five frames. He then gave up homers to Nick Castellanos and Eugenio Suarez (two-run), in the sixth inning. The crafty right-hander still owns a 2.82 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 18:6 K/BB ratio over 22 1/3 innings (four starts) this year. He has a tough test against the Padres at home in his next turn.
