Jarred Kelenic to be promoted 'soon', but not in a matter of days

by Brendan Tuma | Braves Correspondent | Fri, Apr 23rd 2:10pm EDT

Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com that “[Kelenic] is going to get here soon, but I don’t expect that’s going to be in a matter of days.” (MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Dipoto added that the Mariners want Kelenic to see more at-bats versus left-handed pitching. “It’s no fault of his own, but he hasn’t had a chance to see a lot of it,” Dipoto elaborated. “Not shockingly, he’s acing that test right now. Injury aside, he’s going to play in the big leagues in the not-too-distant future.” What we can gather from this is that Kelenic won't be promoted this weekend, despite the fact that service time considerations have passed and that Twins top prospect Alex Kirilloff was just called up. Still, it won't be long before we see Kelenic in the majors. He's worth stashing in standard 12-team redraft leagues right now.
