Wil Myers goes 1-3 with home run on Friday

Wil Myers went 1-3 with a home run, a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored in the Padres' win over the Dodgers on Friday.

Fantasy Impact:

Myers turned around a hanging slider from Clayton Kershaw in the second inning and sent it into the left-center field bleachers. It was Myers' fourth home run on the season, and came off the bat at 105 MPH. Myers has cooled down a bit after his early season surge at the plate, but still has a very solid slash line of .273/.368/.516. Myers' advanced stats show some cause for concern, as his average exit velocity and hard hit rank in the bottom quarter of the league. That being said, Myers has also improved his walk and strikeout rates. All of this means fantasy managers should be cautiously optimistic about Myers' fast start in 2021. Continue starting him if he continues to walk and hit for power, but keep in mind that his low exit velocity numbers could mean some regression in his power numbers could be coming.
