Josh Staumont notches first save of the season

by Brad Camara | Twins Correspondent | Sat, Apr 24th 11:35pm EDT

Josh Staumont threw a perfect inning while striking out two to earn the save during Saturday’s 2-1 over the Tigers.

Fantasy Impact:

Greg Holland was activated from the injured list Saturday, but the Royals turned to Staumont to close out Saturday’s win. The 27-year-old needed 15 pitches to make quick work of the Tigers to earn his first save of the season. He owns a 0.82 ERA, 0.64 WHIP, and 9:4 K: BB ratio over 11 innings in 2021. Staumont is worth stashing in AL-Only and deep-league formats as a potential future closer for the Royals if the opportunity arises.
