Joe Musgrove has tough outing in LA on Sunday

by Matt Flipi | Padres Correspondent | Mon, Apr 26th 11:00am EDT

Joe Musgrove gave up 2 earned runs in just 3 innings pitched in the Padres' win over the Dodgers on Sunday. Musgrove struck out 4 and walked 2 in the outing.

Fantasy Impact:

It was a tough night for Musgrove, and the first time all year that he has struggled significantly in a start. Musgrove did only give up two earned runs, but in his three innings of work he walked two and gave up three hits. Musgrove still boasts a 1.55 ERA and 0.66 WHIP on the season, which is a testament to how good Musgrove has been in his four previous starts. Most of the teams the Padres will face in May have below average lineups, and Musgrove should get starts against the Giants, Cardinals, and Rockies. Musgrove has still been one of the best pitchers in baseball to this point in 2021, so fantasy managers shouldn't hesitate to start him in those matchups.
