Alex Wood stays hot with nine strikeouts over six innings

LHP Alex Wood picked up his third win of the season on Wednesday when he allowed two runs on four hits with a pair of walks and nine strikeouts over six innings as the Giants beat the Rockies 7-3.

Fantasy Impact:

Wood had a no-hitter going into the sixth inning until Garrett Hampson laced an RBI double. He then came back out for the seventh but started to run out of steam as he walked Trevor Story to lead things off before serving up three straight singles. One runner ended up scoring but he did more than enough to secure his third win of the season. The 30-year-old now owns a stellar 1.50 ERA and 0.67 WHIP over his first three starts in Gaints' uniform. He gets the Rockies on the road in his next turn.
