Mondesi took batting practice on Thursday at the team’s alternate site as he continues to recover from an oblique strain. “It’s a positive step towards a return, ” said Royals manager Mike Matheny. Mondesi remains without a timeline but is trending in the right direction. The 25-year-old remains weeks away and will most likely participate in minor-league rehab games before being activated from the injured list. Fantasy managers should continue to keep him stashed on their rosters for now.
