Jack Flaherty improves to 5-0 with quality start against Pirates

by Lucas Spence | Tigers Correspondent | Sat, May 1st 11:04pm EDT

Jack Flaherty remained unbeaten on Saturday, picking up his fifth win by pitching six innings and giving up six hits, three earned runs, and two walks while striking out a season-high nine batters in a 12-5 win over the Pirates.

Fantasy Impact:

Flaherty was staked to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, and that was all he needed on the night. He ran into some trouble in the third inning but was able to limit the damage. Flaherty's 3.41 ERA is still a little bloated due to his poor first outing on Opening Day in bad weather, but he's won five consecutive decisions and notched three straight quality starts as well. He'll carry a perfect 5-0 record and sterling 1.02 WHIP into his next start against the Mets.
