Carlos Martinez blanks Pirates over eight innings in victory

Carlos Martinez was at the top of his game on Sunday afternoon, pitching eight scoreless innings while scattering five hits and two walks and striking out three in a 3-0 win over Pittsburgh.
Fantasy Impact:
That's now three straight stellar outings for Martinez, who has given up a total of two earned runs across his last 21 1/3 innings with two straight wins after opening the season with four straight losses. He doesn't offer the strikeout potential that he used to (just 20 K's in 36 1/3 IP), but he's now the owner of a solid 3.72 ERA and 1.02 WHIP and certainly deserves consideration in all fantasy leagues at this point given the roll he is on. Next up is the Rockies at home this coming weekend.
