RHP Logan Webb took the loss on Wednesday when he allowed six runs on three hits with three walks and five strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings as the Giants lost to the Rockies 6-5 on Wednesday.
Webb was looking good through the first three innings, in fact, he was throwing a perfect game, before things fell apart in the fourth. He allowed a two-run single to Charlie Blackmon and issued three walks, one with the bases loaded, before being replaced by Matt Wisler, who let all of Webb's runners score. The Rockies put up six runs in the frame when it was all said and done. Webb has now allowed nine earned runs over his last two starts (9 2/3 innings) and has his season ERA up to 5.34 with a 1.53 WHIP. Things can snowball quickly in Coors Field, though, so it's hard to judge him on this outing. He gets the Pirates on the road in his next turn, which should serve as a nice bounce-back spot.
