Luke Weaver lit up by the Marlins on Wednesday

by Jon Mathisen | Yankees Correspondent | Thu, May 6th 9:35am EDT

RHP Luke Weaver took the loss on Wednesday when he allowed six runs on six hits with two walks and six strikeouts over four innings as the D-Backs were blanked by the Marlins 8-0.

Fantasy Impact:

All six Miami runs came within the first two innings as Weaver allowed a pair in the first before Adam Duvall cracked a three-run dinger in the second inning. He actually settled down after that but the game was out of hand for the D-Backs who were shut down. Weaver's stellar start to the season appears to have been a mirage as he's now lost 3-of-4 games and seen his ERA inflate to an ugly 6.07 to go along with a 1.38 WHIP and 29:11 K/BB ratio over 29 2/3 innings. He'll try and fare better against the Fish in his next start.
