Brandon Woodruff (2-1) took the tough-luck loss Thursday against the Phillies, allowing one run on two hits and two walks in 6.2 innings. He struck out 11.

Woodruff was dominant on Thursday, overcoming two walks in the first inning and striking out 11 batters. Improbably, he was out-pitched by his counterpart Zack Wheeler, who tossed a complete game shutout. Woodruff owns a 1.73 ERA and 51:11 K:BB in 41.2 innings this season. He'll take on the Cardinals next week.
