Anthony Rendon could return from IL next weekend

Anthony Rendon could be less than a week away from returning. Angels manager Joe Maddon says it's "not out of the question" that the third baseman could be activated from the injured list next weekend against the Red Sox. (Fabian Ardaya on Twitter)

Rendon was placed on the 10-day IL last Wednesday as he battles a left knee contusion. Through 15 games, he is slashing .276/.348/.466 with three home runs, 11 RBI, seven walks, and 11 strikeouts. He ranks fifth among all third basemen in the latest rest-of-season expert consensus rankings.
