RHP Kevin Gausman earned the win on Saturday when he allowed just one run on three hits with a walk and seven strikeouts over six innings as the Giants beat the Padres 7-1.
Gausman was sharp on Saturday, limiting the Padres to just four base runners over his six innings of work. The only run San Diego pushed across came via an RBI groundout in the top of the fifth inning. The hard-throwing right-hander is once again having an excellent season for the Giants. He's not striking guys out at the same clip as he did last season but fantasy managers can't complain about a 1.97 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 47:12 K/BB ratio over 45 2.3 innings. He gets a tasty matchup vs. the Pirates on the road in his next start.
