Adam Wainwright dazzles over eight plus innings in win on Sunday

Adam Wainwright was terrific on Sunday afternoon, pitching 8 1/3 shutout innings (113 pitches) in a 2-0 win over the Rockies. Wainwright yielded only three hits and three walks while striking out four and improved his record to 2-3 on the season.
Fantasy Impact:
After surprisingly registering a 3.15 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in the shortened 2020 season, the 39-year-old veteran and his patented curveball now own a solid 3.80 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 2021. He’s not a must-own player by any stretch, but he’s certainly worth streaming in favorable matchups. However, a road start at San Diego next weekend is not advisable.
