Lucas Giolito earns second win of the season

Lucas Giolito (2-3) allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings earning the win during Sunday’s 9-3 victory over the Royals.

Giolito surrendered one run on a double play in the first frame and cruised through the next four innings to pick up his second win of the season on Sunday. He snapped a three-game losing streak. The 26-year-old threw 93 pitches, landing 65 for strikes. He owns a 4.54 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 43:15 K: BB across 35 2/3 innings in 2021. Giolito will look to build on Sunday’s performance in a rematch against the Royals this weekend.
