Fantasy Impact:

Kopech continues to be used as a multi-inning reliever and an occasional spot starter in 2021. He could be used as a starter for one of Friday’s doubleheader games against the Royals. “He’s (Kopech) such a valuable reliever too that we are balancing when he’s available to help us win that day,” La Russa said. “We looked at it: He can pitch one of the two days, [Saturday] or Sunday, and the last day he would be available would be Tuesday. If we need him to win the game, he’ll pitch there, rest two days, and could start.” Kopech has been dominant in 2021, owning a (2-0) record along with a 1.61 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 35:8 K: BB across 22 1/3 innings.
