Alex Wood holds Rangers to one run over seven innings

by Jon Mathisen | Athletics Correspondent | Tue, May 11th 1:46am EDT

LHP Alex Wood picked up the win on Monday when he allowed one run on four hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in the Giants' 3-1 win over the Rangers.

Fantasy Impact:

Wood just keeps on trucking. He limited the underrated Rangers' offense to just one run over his seven innings of work. He did issue three walks, which was a season-high but he managed to punch out seven batters as well. Wood should continue to roll as long as he can remain healthy, which has always been an issue for him. He now owns a sterling 1.80 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and 29:8 K/BB ratio over 30 innings (five starts). He draws the Pirates in his next turn.
