Jake Cronenworth goes 3-4 on Satureday

by Matt Flipi | Padres Correspondent | Sun, May 16th 11:41am EDT

Jake Cronenworth went 3-4 with three singles and a walk in the Padres' win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Cronenworth has quietly been fantastic early in the 2021 season. He's currently slashing .289/.367/.416 with 3 home runs. He also has eligibility at multiple positions in most formats. Cronenworth has cemented his role as the everyday second baseman in San Diego, and will continue to see plenty of playing time going forward. Power will always be the question with Cronenworth, as his average exit velocity and hard hit rate leave something to be desired. That being said, his max exit velocity is solid for a second baseman, so it's not out of the realm of possibility for Cronenworth to reach 15 home runs with the amount of playing time he should get the rest of the season. Cronenworth's elite bat-to-ball skills and steady walk rate means Cronenworth will rarely hurt you when starting him. Continue plugging and playing Cronenworth in your starting lineup when you can.
