Rafael Montero earned the save Tuesday against Oakland, working around a jam with runners on the corners to toss a scoreless inning.

With Kendall Graveman on the injured list, the Mariners closer role continues to be up for grabs. Kenyan Middleton earned the save on Monday in a game where Montero earned the hold. Montero got the save opportunity Tuesday night. After recording two quick outs, Elvis Andrus and Mark Canha recorded back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners before Seth Brown grounded out to Montero on the mound to clinch the series victory for Seattle.
