German Marquez brilliant in loss

Luck was not on German Marquez's side this Thursday. The Rockies starter pitched six innings in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Mets, allowing just one run on three hits. He struck out half a dozen batters and did not walk anyone. Still, due to a lack of run support, Marquez was hit with the loss.

Through 11 total starts this year, Marquez is 3-5 with a 4.47 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and .256 OBA. He's also walked 31 batters and struck out twice as many (62). The 26-year-old ranks 57th among starters in the latest rest-of-season expert consensus rankings.
