First baseman Matt Beaty went 2-for-2 with a solo home run in the Dodgers' 8-5 loss to the Giants in extra-innings on Friday.
Beaty put the Dodgers on the board in the bottom of the second inning when he took starter Anthony DeSclafani deep for a solo shot. He would pick up a single in his other at-bat before Albert Pujols replaced him as a pinch-hitter. The 28-year-old has taken advantage of the playing time that's been afforded to him. He now owns a .282/.385/.397 batting line with a pair of home runs and 22 RBI over 78 at-bats.
