Pavin Smith has a big day at the plate

by Jon Mathisen | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Wed, Jun 2nd 3:47am EDT

First baseman Pavin Smith went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and one walk as the Diamondbacks took down the Mets 6-5 in extra-innings on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

The D-Backs couldn't get anything going against Mets starter Marcus Stroman, who kept them off the scoreboard until the bottom of the sixth inning. Smith put Arizona back in the game with a three-run bomb, his fifth of the season, to pull the D-Backs to within one run. He would later reach base on a walk and score the game-winning run off of a Josh Reddick double in the bottom of the 10th inning. The 25-year-old has put together an excellent 1/3 of a season so far. He's rocking a .288/.336/.455 batting line to go along with five home runs and 21 RBI over 198 at-bats. He's capable of providing fantasy value in deeper mixed leagues.
