Carlos Rodon flirts with no-hitter, dominates Tigers for win number six

Carlos Rodon (6-2) allowed one run on one hit and two walks while striking out nine across seven innings to earn the win during Sunday’s 4-1 victory over the Tigers.

Fantasy Impact:

Rodon took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and dominated the Tigers to pick up his sixth win of the year. He threw 103 pitches, firing 70 for strikes. “It seemed like from the first pitch, the first inning, everything was in sync as far as delivery, the ball just jumped out of his hand, he (Rodon) commanded three pitches,” White Sox manager Tony La Russa said. “And he kept it up through seven innings. He was outstanding.” Rodon’s breakout season continues, owning a 1.89 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, and 97 strikeouts across 66 2/3 innings in 2021. The player known as “Los” will look to keep things rolling against the Pirates on Friday.
