Yadier Molina plays hero on Wednesday with walk-off single

by Lucas Spence | Wed, Jun 16th 5:35pm EDT

Yadier Molina took his turn as the hero of the day for St. Louis on Wednesday afternoon, driving in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning with an RBI single to lead the Cardinals to a 1-0 win over the Marlins. It was his only hit in four at-bats.

Fantasy Impact:

The Cardinals swept Miami with a go-ahead RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning by Tyler O'Neill on Monday, a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth by Paul Goldschmidt on Tuesday, and now a walk-off single by Molina this afternoon. What a thrilling series for the Red Birds. The 38-year-old veteran has been struggling in the month of June (.176) but came up with the clutch his for his team on Wednesday.
