Brandon Belt triples and homers in Wednesday's win

by Jon Mathisen | Thu, Jun 17th 2:17am EDT

First baseman Brandon Belt went 2-for-4 with a triple, a home run, three RBI, one walk, and one strikeout as the Giants blew out the D-Backs 13-7 on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Belt led off the third inning with his second triple of the season but no one was able to hit him in, surprisingly. He then smacked a three-run shot off of Ryan Buchter in the bottom of the fifth to put the Giants up 13-2. The veteran first baseman has shown some signs of life at the plate over the last seven games (23 at-bats), slashing .304/.429/.739 with a home run, four RBI, and three walks. He has deeper mixed league and NL-only value whenever he's on the field but he's battled injury and ineffectiveness all season.
