The updates on Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (quad) do not appear to be very positive. Speaking postgame on Wednesday, manager Dusty Baker said, "It looks like we’ve lost Bregman for a while." The skipper added that the team should know more about the injury and its severity on Thursday. (Brent Zwerneman on Twitter)
Bregman exited after just one at-bat against the Rangers and was visibly experiencing discomfort. He's slashing .275/.359/.428 through 59 games this year and ranked fourth among third basemen in the latest rest-of-season expert consensus rankings prior to going down. He's rostered in 100 percent of ESPN leagues and should be held on to until further updates come out.
