Wilmer Flores stays hot in win over the Angels

by Jon Mathisen | Giants Correspondent | Wed, Jun 23rd 1:39am EDT

Third baseman Wilmer Flores went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and a strikeout as the Giants took down the Angels by a score of 5-0 on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

The red-hot Flores picked up his only hit in the top of the first inning when he parked the first pitch he saw from Andrew Heaney over the wall in center field. Brandon Belt was aboard for the ride and Flores' two-run shot put San Francisco up 4-0. The 29-year-old has been white-hot at the plate over his last seven games, slashing .476/.478/1.095 with four home runs and seven RBI. On the season, he's sporting a .262/.335/.439 batting line to go along with seven long balls, 24 RBI, and a 23:18 K/BB ratio over 164 at-bats. He's worth a shot in deep mixed leagues and is definitely in play as a streamer right now. He's been filling in well for the injured Evan Longoria.
