Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks struck out one across a perfect inning to earn the save during Wednesday’s 4-3 win over the Pirates.

Hendriks retired the side in the bottom of the ninth inning to earn his 19th save of the season. The 32-year-old is one of baseball’s elite closers and has held opponents scoreless in 22 over his last 23 innings. Hendriks owns a 2.01 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, and an incredible 49:3 K: BB across 31 1/3 innings in 2021.
