Tony Gonsolin whiffs seven in no-decision

by Jon Mathisen | Dodgers Correspondent | Sat, Jun 26th 12:15pm EDT

RHP Tony Gonsolin didn't factor into the decision on Friday when he allowed one run on one hit with a pair of walks and seven strikeouts as the Dodgers beat the Cubs 6-2.

Fantasy Impact:

Gonsolin served up a solo home run to Kris Bryant in the top of the first inning but would only allow two more base runners with a pair of walks over his next three innings. He whiffed a season-high and needed 69 pitches--37 strikes--to get through his four innings. He's yet to pitch beyond the fourth inning in any of his four starts this season but he's still getting stretched out after a long absence. He owns a 2.77 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 18:10 K/BB ratio over 13 innings (four starts). He'll get the Nationals on the road in his next turn.
