Minnesota Twins right-hander Kenta Maeda struggled in a 7-6 loss to the White Sox on Tuesday. Maeda allowed seven runs in 4 2/3 innings in the loss while striking out four and walking five.
Maeda struggled with his control, throwing just 58 of 92 pitches for strikes and failing to make it out of the fifth inning. In fact, Maeda has failed to make it through the fifth inning in six of his 12 starts on the year. The veteran has been unable to recreate his success from 2020, posting a 3-3 record, 5.56 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and 54 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings of work.
