by Brad Camara | Phillies Correspondent | Wed, Jun 30th 6:30am EDT

Kansas City Royals second baseman Whit Merrifield went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base during Tuesday’s 7-6 loss to the Red Sox.

Fantasy Impact:

Merrifield put the Royals on the scoreboard by blasting a leadoff homer off Red Sox pitcher Nick Pivetta in the top of the first inning. It was his eighth long ball of the season. The 32-year-old has now homered in back-to-back games. Merrifield continues to rake and has recorded multi-hit efforts in four of his last five games. The Royals' second baseman is slashing .287/.336/.435 with 22 stolen bases in 2021.
