Drew Steckenrider allows first run in 10 appearances Wednesday

by Ari Koslow | Thu, Jul 1st 1:21am EDT

Drew Steckenrider earned the save Wednesday against Toronto, allowing one (unearned) run on one hit over one inning with one strikeout.

Fantasy Impact:

The one run Steckenrider allowed was unearned as it was the runner who opened up the 10th inning on second base. It was the first run he has allowed in 10 appearances. He earned his second save of the year after Kendall Graveman was used in the 8th and 9th innings. Steckenrider appears to have locked up a late-inning role in what has quietly been a solid Mariners bullpen this year, and he could be the next man up as the closer if Graveman was to miss any more time. He appears to be in the set-up role for now, though Paul Sewald commands a similar role as well in the Seattle bullpen.
