Mike Yastrzemski goes yard in loss to Arizona

by Jon Mathisen | Giants Correspondent | Fri, Jul 2nd 11:58am EDT

Outfielder Mike Yastrzemski went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk as the Giants lost to the D-Backs 5-3 on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

Yastrzemski took D-Backs starter Merrill Kelly deep on the third pitch of the ball game to put the Giants up 1-0. It was his only hit of the contest--he also reached base with a walk--and his 11th dinger of the year. The 30-year-old outfielder is just 4-for-25 over the last seven games but two of those hits have left the yard. He's been up and down all season, which was resulted in a .224/.329/.475 batting line to go along with 11 home runs, 28 RBI, and one stolen base over 223 at-bats.
