Yency Almonte allows six runs in loss

by Andersen Pickard | Cubs Correspondent | Sat, Jul 3rd 12:18pm EDT

Rockies reliever Yency Almonte was tasked with pitching the 10th inning of a tied ballgame on Friday, but he was unable to get the job done. Instead, he allowed a whopping six runs (five earned) on three hits and two walks. He also struck out two batters over 1.1 innings of work en route to earning the loss.

Fantasy Impact:

Almonte is now 1-2 with an 11.52 ERA, 2.04 WHIP, and .300 OBA this season. Evidently, he's had a very poor year on the mound. Still, the Rockies have used him 29 times this year, so they still have some faith in the right-hander.
