Kwang Hyun Kim pitches seven shutout innings on Monday

by Lucas Spence | Mon, Jul 5th 11:22pm EDT

Cardinals left-hander Kwang Hyun Kim turned in arguably his best performance of the season on Monday, pitching seven scoreless innings while permitting only three hits and two walks to go along with two strikeouts in a 5-3 victory over San Francisco.

Fantasy Impact:

Kim won his second straight start, improving to 3-5 on the season by keeping the Giants off balance all evening, evidenced by the fact that he did not allow a single extra-base hit all game. Kim does not miss many bats, which limits his fantasy appeal, but he's now lowered his ERA to 3.39 on the season after allowing 1 ER or fewer in four of his past five starts. He's certainly worth streaming in the right match-ups. He'll face the Cubs in Wrigley Field this weekend in his final start before the All-Star break.
