Wade LeBlanc gives up three runs in just three innings in loss to Cubs

by Lucas Spence | Fri, Jul 9th 7:25pm EDT

Cardinals starter Wade LeBlanc lasted only three innings (65 pitches) in a loss to the Cubs on Friday afternoon, surrendering five hits, three earned runs, and three walks while recording only one strikeout.

Fantasy Impact:

LeBlanc loaded the bases in the first inning and nearly escaped trouble until Joc Pederson lined a shot into right field that a sliding Dylan Carlson nearly caught until it popped out of his glove and scooted away, allowing all three runs to score. Leblanc pitched surprisingly well in his past two starts for the Cardinals but took his first loss with his new team on Friday. The 36-year-old isn't a recommend fantasy league option at this juncture.
