Adam Wainwright gives up four runs in loss to Giants on Friday

by Lucas Spence | Sat, Jul 17th 10:41am EDT

Adam Wainwright pitched six innings on Friday, giving up five hits, four earned runs, and a walk in a loss to San Francisco. Wainwright struck out seven while falling to 7-6 on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Wainwright did a good job keeping runners off the base paths but was done in by two home runs, first a solo shot to Mike Yastrzemski in the first inning followed by a back-breaking three-run homer by LaMonte Wade Jr. in the fifth that accounted for all the scoring against the veteran right-hander. Wainwright still owns a solid 3.71 ERA and 1.15 WHIP and will look to get back into the win column next week against the Cubs.
