Wade LeBlanc pitches five solid innings on Sunday

by Lucas Spence | Sun, Jul 18th 5:51pm EDT

Wade LeBlanc pitched five innings of one-run ball on Sunday afternoon, allowing just five hits and a walk while striking out three in a no-decision against San Francisco.

Fantasy Impact:

The 36-year-old veteran has now made four starts with St. Louis and owns an impressive 2.92 ERA which has been a welcome sight for a team whose starting rotation has been hit hard by injuries. With that said, LeBlanc's 1.38 WHIP suggests he's been fortunate in the luck department, so it's hard to recommend him as a viable option in fantasy leagues after being released by the Orioles earlier this season (9.45 ERA). He has a very tough matchup scheduled next weekend at Cincinnati and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.
