Tony Gonsolin takes the loss on Monday

by Jon Mathisen | Dodgers Correspondent | Tue, Jul 20th 12:47pm EDT

RHP Tony Gonsolin took his first loss of the season on Monday when he allowed three runs on five hits with four walks and three strikeouts over 3 1/3 innings in the Dodgers' 7-2 loss to the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

Gonsolin looked a little rusty on Monday, firing off 80 pitches--39 strikes--just to get through 3 1/3 innings. He had a rough first inning, surrendering a pair of home runs to Buster Posey and Wilmer Flores that accounted for all three runs against him. He settled down a bit after that but still struggled with his control. The 27-year-old still owns a solid 2.83 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 34:19 K/BB ratio over 28 2/3 innings on the year. He'll square off against the Rockies at home in his next start.
