Catcher Will Smith went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit three-run homer in the Dodgers' 8-6 win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Smith entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the ninth inning with the Dodgers trailing by one run. With two runners on and no one out, Smith connected on the second pitch he saw from Tyler Rogers and deposited it into the bleachers in left-center field. The 26-year-old backstop has been heating up at the plate, slashing .318/.429/.636 with two home runs and 12 RBI over the last seven games (22 at-bats). He remains an elite option at the catcher position.
