Kenley Jansen melts down in blown save

by Jon Mathisen | Dodgers Correspondent | Thu, Jul 22nd 1:19am EDT

RHP Kenley Jansen blew the save and took the loss on Wednesday when he allowed three runs on three hits while walking two and striking out one in the Dodgers' 4-2 loss to the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

Jansen was tasked with protecting a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth inning but was unable to get the job done. He served up a single to Buster Posey and a go-ahead two-run homer to Wilmer Flores in the next at-bat. He recorded a strikeout before loading the bases with a double and back-to-back walks. He was replaced by Victor Gonzalez who would walk an inherited runner home. Jansen had blown just two saves all season leading up to the All-Star break but has now blown back-to-back chances. The closer job should remain his for now but he's looked very shaky lately.
