Walker Buehler punches out nine in no-decision

by Jon Mathisen | Dodgers Correspondent | Fri, Jul 23rd 12:49pm EDT

RHP Walker Buehler took a no-decision on Thursday when he allowed one run on five hits with a walk and nine strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings as the Dodger lost to the Giants 5-3.

Fantasy Impact:

Buehler was superb on Thursday, virtually shutting down the Giants over his seven-plus innings. He served up a double to LaMonte Wade Jr., who would come around to score, in the first inning but that was the only run he allowed. He was in line for the win before Kenley Jansen melted down in the ninth inning. Buehler has been a steady hand in the Dodgers' beleaguered starting rotation this season. He now owns a 2.31 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 131:29 K/BB ratio over 128 2/3 innings (20 starts). He'll get a chance to earn a win against these same Giants in his next turn.
