Max Scherzer ‘being discussed’ in trade talks

As the trade deadline approaches, the Nationals have a decision to make on ace Max Scherzer. According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the veteran hurler is “being discussed potential trades” as of late.

Fantasy Impact:

Scherzer has a no-trade clause, but as Heyman notes, a deal coming together “seems quite possible” considering Washington is seven games back in its division. The former first-round pick is 7-4 with a 2.38 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 142 strikeouts so far this year. If he were to be moved, he’d have to waive his no-trade clause and the Nats would need to be blown away by an offer.
