RHP Kenley Jansen earned the save on Saturday when he walked a batter and struck out another over a scoreless ninth inning in the Dodgers' 1-0 win over the Rockies.
Jansen had blown his last three save opportunities so this was a crucial appearance for the veteran stopper. He was facing the heart of the Rockies lineup and was tasked with protecting a slim 1-0 lead. He got Charlie Blackmon to pop out and Trevor Story to fly out before he walked Ryan McMahon. Before the home crowd could even begin to stress out, Jansen fanned C.J. Cron on three pitches to end the contest. He'll continue to get the save chances for the Dodgers but he's not out of the woods as he's looked very shaky since the All-Star break.
