Byron Buxton rejects contract extension from Twins

Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports that outfielder Byron Buxton has rejected a contract extension from the Minnesota Twins. (Ken Rosenthal on Twitter )

Buxton and the Twins reportedly were in contract negotiations towards a multi-year extension worth $70 million. The oft-injured star outfielder declined any recent offers. Buxton is currently sidelined with a fractured hand and will be out until mid-August, making him unlikely to be dealt by the MLB trade deadline on July 31.
