Sonny Gray roughed up in loss Sunday

by Connor Rooney | Cardinals Correspondent | Sun, Jul 25th 6:10pm EDT

Sonny Gray (2-6) took the loss Sunday against the Cardinals, allowing eight runs on eight hits and one walk in 3.1 innings. He struck out three.

Fantasy Impact:

This was a total clunker from Gray. He allowed three homers and could not limit hard contact whatsoever. Since returning from a back injury, Gray hasn't pitched well enough to live up to his preseason draft status. In 70 innings pitched this season, he holds a 4.50 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and a 89:28 K:BB. He'll face the Mets in next weekend's series.
